ECE 201 Lecture 26 Borja Peleato First order circuits with Op Amps 1 Operations Op amps can add signals Op amps can subtract signals This lecture shows that they can also differentiate and integrate 2 RC op amps In previous lectures we studied several first order circuits with constant or step inputs where capacitors or inductors got charged and discharged exponentially with a time constant given by RTHC or L RTH Nothing would change if an op amp is in the circuit We would just find the RTH from the perspective of the capacitor or inductor and apply the usual formula However we are now going to study a few cases where the input source provides an arbitrary waveform 3 Differentiator 4 High pass filter 5 Waveform generation 6 Integrator 7 Low pass filter An integrator attenuates high frequencies and amplifies small frequencies Alternatively it would convert a square waveform into a triangular one 8 Example 9 10 Example 2 11 12 13 14 15
