(Access code may be purchased on web site.) - Student companion web site for Module 5 content - Visio Professional software is required and permanent keys will be made available at no charge to students who attend class regularly. Knowledge Objectives: - To acquire a conceptual understanding of the roles of information and information technology in decision-making, operational support, and stewardship. - To develop an in-depth awareness of the impact of enterprise-wide information systems on managerial decision making as well as organizational competitiveness. - To understand the basic principles underlying the design, integrity and effectiveness of enterprise-wide information systems. - To gain an appreciation that the functions (and implementation) of enterprise-wide information systems have been, and will continue to be, subject to constant rethinking caused by economic and technological change. - To understand how to document and model business processes. - To understand how to design a data model for implementation in a relational database Skills Objectives: - To nourish and enhance analytical skills and the ability to analyze unstructured problems -- problems with more than one defensible solution. - To develop effective communication (oral and written) skills. - To develop and improve skills of working and learning as a group. - To develop and improve proficiency in computer skills.
