CAD ApplicationsAssignment #1DISK PREPARATION, DRAWING SET UP, AND PLOTTINGObjective: The student will set up the drawing area for size “B” drawing paper by setting the limits, inserting the assigned border and title block, produce a finished plot using the laser jet printer, and copy the required operating files to theWORKING DISK.Assignment:¨ You will need a device to store projects currently in progress. This device will be refered to as a WORKING DISK. This device can be either a USB flash drive or your personal space (P:) on the engineering technology server. ¨ Copy the file B-7.DWG from the system onto your WORKING DISK. This file is located on the C: drive in the directory called "Students."¨ Boot the system. Load AutoCAD. ¨ A draw screen will appear. The next step is to define the size drawing paper. We will be using size "B" paper which is 17" x 11". Use the LIMITS command to define the size of drawing paper. Type in LIMITS and answer the questions. The Set the limits for the lower left corner to (0,0) and the upper right corner to (16.54,10.60).¨ Next insert the border and title block. Type in the command INSERT. The INSERT dialogbox will appear. Click on the Browse button then click on the down arrow in the "look-in" box to locate the file B-7. Click on the drawing file B-7 to select this file and click theopen button to complete the selection process. Take out the check mark in the box "Specify On-screen" in the "Insertion point" section. Click on the OK buttion to complete the insert command.o An "Enter Attributes" dialogue box will appear on the screen. Answer the questions with the proper responses,pressing the ENTER key after each response. When all of the prompts have been answered click the "OK" boxto return to the drawing. The responses will now appear in the title block.¨ The border and title block will be drawn on the screen.¨ Save the drawing onto your disk by clicking on the SAVE option in the FILE section of the Pull-Down menu.¨ Plot the finished drawing on size “A” drawing paper using the #4_D104_BW printer. Refer to the handout PLOTTING ON THE the #4_D104_BW PRINTER, PLOTTING ON SIZE "B" PAPER for the plotting procedure.¨ Plot the finished drawing on size “B” drawing paper using the #4_D104_BW printer. Refer to the handout PLOTTING ON THE #4_D104_BW PRINTER, PLOTTING ON SIZE "B" PAPER for the plotting procedure.o To exit or close this drawing file select the "exit" option in the File pull-down menu. It is important to close the drawing before exiting AutoCAD or beginning a new drawing. Close any open drawing files before removing storage devices or turning off the power.CAD ApplicationsAssignment #1¨ After you plot the drawing place a copy of the file into the assigned grading folder. Use either Windows Explorer or My Computer to copy files from one location to another. o A CAD Drawing Document Sheet completely filled out is required for this assignmentas well as all remaining assignments. This sheet is to be filled out before actual work has begun on the assignment. Planning a CAD drawing is a very important step in making a drawing.
