CAD ApplicationsAssignment #13ASCALINGObjective:The student will construct a complete orthographic drawing of an assigned problem with METRIC dimensions using the CAD system.Assignment:¨ Copy the file EDD12121.DWG to your working disk. This file contains the front view, top view, and right side view of the drawing.¨ Complete the drawing by inserting the border and title block, setting the paper size for size “B” paper, adding object lines, hidden lines, and center lines, and adding the necessary dimensions. ¨ The student will set the drawing parameters, layers, colors, and linetypes as needed. Use the correct linetype assignments for each line type (i.e. CENTER2, HIDDEN2).¨ Standard drafting practice requires center lines to extend 1/4" past the feature, not the entire object. Include all center lines for complete circles only.¨ Select the necessary views for the placement of the dimensions. Dimensioning will be in accordance with the rules and techniques as described in the textbook Engineering Graphics. Review dimension text locations and dimension line spacing.¨ Create a layer for the dimensions with a color of the student's own selection. Be sure toinclude this layer on the CAD Drawing Document Sheet.¨ The finished drawing will be on size "B" drawing paper. Begin a new drawing. Set the limits for size "B" paper and insert the standard border and title block. When prompted for the X scale factor and the Y scale factor enter the multiplier value for a scale of 1” = 1mm.¨ The drawing is drawn full size using a scale of 1” = 1mm. This will require the scaling ofthe TEXT heights, LINETYPES, and the DIM parameters for the finished plotted drawing using a size "B" sheet of drawing paper with a scale of 1mm=1mm. Record all values inthe spaces provided. ¨ TEXT HEIGHT: _______________ (for 1/8" high letters for general lettering)¨ LIMITS: ___________________________(for size “B” drawing paper (16.54, 10.60).)¨ LTSCALE: _______________ (for a finished scale of 1mm=1mm)¨ Insertion Scale factor (Border and Title block): _______________¨ DRAWING UNITS: ___________________________¨ Do not use AutoCAD's default dimensioning parameters. In the Annotation ribbon select the Style option andcreate a new dimension style. Make this new style current.CAD ApplicationsAssignment #13AIn the Lines section: Set the Baseline Spacing for 0.25 Set the Extend Beyond Dim Lines value to 0.125 Set the Offset from origin value to 0.0625In the Symbols and Arrows section: (Choose an arrowhead style) Set the Arrow Size to 0.125 Set the center marks to NoneIn the Text Section: Set the Text height value to 0.125 Set Vertical to "centered." Set the Horizontal to "centered." Set the text alignment to "Aligned with dimension line"In the Fit Section: Set the fit to "either the text or the arrows, whichever fits best"  Set to “Beside the Dimension Line” Set the “Use overall scale of” to 25.4In the Primary Units Section: Set the Unit Format to Decimal Set the Precision to 0.00 Add dimensions to the drawing using the CAD terminal. Space the first dimension line 10mm (10 units) from the object and 5mm (5 units) for all successive dimensions. Use the Offset command to establish the spacing requirements. Use GRIPS to reposition dimension text if necessary to avoid stacking.¨ Set the Linear Dimension command to either BASELINE or CONTINUE as needed. Add the given dimensions to the drawing using the Annotation ribbon. Add center lines for all circles and arcs.  Use the DDEDIT command to edit dimension text to manually change or add text to a dimension. Use the PROPERTIES dialog box when you want to change content, text style, location, orientation, size, justification, and other properties. Plot the drawing on size “A” drawing paper. Plot the drawing with different line weights by assigning a line weight to a layer. Assign a line weight of 0.02 for object lines, a line weight of 0.012 for hidden lines, and a line weight of 0.010 (default) to all other lines.2CAD ApplicationsAssignment #13AEvaluation: You should have one plot and one CAD Drawing Document Sheet for this Assignment.  Refer to the PROJECT EVALUATION handout for the required items to be turned in for evaluation.Vocabulary:QLEADER MTEXT UNITS GRIPS LTSCALE TEXTLEADER (LE) MLEADER DIMSTYLE (DST)
