Unwilling to pass up opportunities!!3 Motivations for Committing Burglaries!! 1. Keeping the Party Going!! ! - Burglary was not necessarily a rational or highly planned act but occurred due to circumstantial need!! 2. Keeping Up Appearances:!! ! - Money derived from burglary used to purchase "status" items such as name-brand clothes, cars, etc.!! 3. Keeping Things Together:!! ! - Cash for subsistence!! ! - While many did use the money to pay bills, the bills were usually very delinquent as they had opted to buy drugs in the past. !!Why Burglary?!! 1.
