Most of these troops were white so when they left blacks moved up North and took their factory jobs. These notes represent a detailed interpretation of the professor’s lecture. GradeBuddy is best used as a supplement to your own notes, not as a substitute. However with the rapid demobilization of troops, returning vets wanted their jobs back and government contracts were over. This caused race riots (employment riots).B. People who came back from the war came down with the Spanish Influenza, and they didn’t start showing symptoms until they got back to their homelands. Within 30-50 million people died within a year of having this influenza.ll.A. In 1920, Warren G. Harding is the republican nominee. During this time Palmer decides to create the FBI. These were called Palmer raids where they went into Union meetings and questioned the Communist members. Because of this Palmer did not become the democratic nominee.B. This lowers the cost of the car, but some people still cannot afford it.B. So what Ford decides to do is pay his workers $5 a day so they could buy his cars and he could still make a profit.
