SNCC Current Lecturel. When one didn’t know what to do with a baby or how to take care of it or when to do what they could buy a book written by the pediatrician Dr. Spock. Except that in his book he said not to discipline children, but this lead to unruly teens and teenage delinquency in the 1950’s.A. TV shows and movies came out portraying teenage delinquency and strict or non-strict fathers.ll.A. The Tuskegee airmen were all black pilots with no failure in their missions and they had the best record in their entire air force. Eleanor Roosevelt would only have them fly her places. She worked together with President Truman and used the 14th Amendment to desegregate the military in 1946.These notes represent a detailed interpretation of the professor’s lecture. GradeBuddy is best used as a supplement to your own notes, not as a substitute.B. In 1947 Jackie Robinson crosses the color line to MLB because of his attitude and personality. He was so focused on baseball he didn’t pay attention to the booing fans and was recognized as rookie of the year.C. In 1954 Brown vs Board of Education in Kansas wanted the court to overturn Plessey vs Ferguson because separate but equal was not equal. Eisenhower is the President and he chooses Earl Warren as the new Chief Justice. He tells them that they’ll lose the case because they don’t have evidence, so they go get evidence to make the case and win. Their evidence is a psychology study about black and white dolls to prove their point.D. In 1956 schools are not desegregating so the Supreme Court says they want desegregation “with all deliberate speed”. This doesn’t say how fast but just means to hurry up. Eisenhower tells schools to desegregate. E. In 1957 there was supposed to be 9 black students going to Little Rock high school and Governor Faubus doesn’t want this so he calls the Arkansas National Guard to stop them. Eisenhower tells the National Guard to help them so Faubus closes down all publicschools in Arkansas and Eisenhower has to reopen them.F. If your were black you had to sit at the back of the bus, but Rosa Parks didn’t move whena white man told her to sit in the back so he could have her seat. She gets arrested and calls her new pastor Martin Luther King Jr. to help her. They have a bus boycott and don’tride on buses for a year before the buses are about to go bankrupt so they give in and change their policy of blacks having to sit in the back. G. The SNCC or the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Company conduct sit-ins until blacks get served. Owners have to keep costumers coming in so they desegregate lunch
