Freeman and Company Course Requirements: 5 Quizzes 1 Essay 1 Midterm 1 Final Exam (Cumulative) Grading: Weight for the final grade will roughly be the following: Quizzes - 15% Essay - 15% Mid-term - 30% Final - 40%MCDB-100 Syllabus Summer 2010 Mid-term and final exams will consist of a mix of multiple choice questions and short answers. They will cover materials from the lectures, readings, and discussion sessions. The final exam will be cumulative. Exams must be written in ink, no pencil allowed. Makeup exams are NOT given. In the case that you are unable to take an examination or have an illness or emergency, you are responsible for contacting your TA before the examination. A written verification regarding the illness or emergency must be provided. If you feel that a mistake in grading has been made on your exam, submit your exam and a typed explanation to your teaching assistant by Friday (5pm) of the week following the exam. When you submit your exam for re-grading, the entire content of the exam will be taken into consideration. Written Assignment / Essay You will write a 3-4 page (double spaced) paper discussing a current primary research article of your choice in which the focus of the research is related to Cancer or Stem Cell Biology.
