Interview with AdolescentsPlease Read First: Thank you for agreeing to do this interview with me. As we went over in the consent form, I am interviewing families as an assignment for my Adolescent Development class at Montclair State University. If you do not want to answer any of the questions, please just say so and you don’t have to answer it. Are you ready to begin?1. HOW OLD ARE YOU AND WHAT GRADE ARE YOU IN AT SCHOOL?- 14 and in the ninth grade 2. HOW HAS YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR PARENTS CHANGED DURING THE PAST FEW YEARS?- They fight less-especially in the last year. However there has not been any other change.3. HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU SPEND WITH YOUR FAMILY, AND WHAT TYPE OF THINGS DO YOU DO WHEN YOU ARE TOGETHER?- Driving to church- Being in church- Occasionally eating dinner together- Sitting at Panera together- Lots of driving4. HOW OFTEN DO YOU AND YOUR PARENTS HAVE FIGHTS OR DISAGREEMENTS, AND WHAT ARE THEY USUALLY ABOUT?- Everydayo 2 times a day homework-procrastinating waking up-Maggie likes to sleep5. HOW HAS YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR FRIENDS CHANGED DURING THE PAST FEW YEARS? - She now has different friends and does not have drama like she used to when she was in earlier grades6. HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU USUALLY SPEND WITH YOUR FRIENDS, AND WHAT TYPE OF THINGS DO YOU DO WHEN YOU ARE TOGETHER?- Outside of school, she spends time with her friends at the stable riding horses7. IN YOUR OPINION, WHAT ARE SOME OF THE ISSUES FACING TEENAGERS TODAY, THAT YOU THINK THEIR PARENTS MIGHT HAVE A HARD TIME UNDERSTANDING?- There is much more technology that adolescents have todayo Social media- School is differento so much pressure  more emphasis on test scores and no actual learning8. WHAT DO YOU THINK THAT IT MEANS TO BE A GOOD PARENT OF A TEENAGER?- To keep the teenager on task but still let them have a life. - Also more privacy 9. IF YOU COULD CHANGE ANYTHING ABOUT YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOUR PARENT, WHAT WOULD IT BE?- Privacy- phoneo wants a smart phone10. WHAT IS THE HARDEST PART OF BEING __________ YEARS OLD?- High school- School Work - Teachers- Wants more sleep- Thinks parents are crazy (“bing bing bing. Like interviewing a pinball) 11. WHAT IS THE BEST PART OF BEING ___________ YEARS OLD?- can be stupid and people blow it off to her bing
