Why is there a lack of understanding/appreciation for ethics in the SPTE industry?

|

|

|

|
Principles of right and wrong conduct and decisions

Why Ethics does not always equate with legality

Problems with moral relativism

- Cannot criticize anything because everyone has right to own morals

Benefits of Moral Relativism

Kantian Ethics
|
Moral decision arises out of strict duty rather than to produce a desired result.
- If it was done to achieve the desirable result, it is not ethical.

Weaknesses of Kantian Ethics

- Does not allow for exceptions
- Unrealistic

Hypothetical Imperatives
|
If/then statements where "ought" is found.
- Do it because you ought to, not because other things will happen

Universalizability/Categorical Imperative
|
An action is right if you could apply is universally
