What roles do national and organizational culture play in compensation National and organizational culture play a pretty important role in compensation For instance national culture are a set of norms and beliefs that are shared by individuals within national boundaries who are indigenous to that area Managers in U S companies need to take into consideration the effectiveness if using US cultures in multinational corporations What may motivate US employees may not necessarily motivate employees in other countries Organizational culture is a system of beliefs and values that produce norms of behavior US companies us a traditional hierarchy to run the companies and create a culture where employees performances are based on the beliefs and values that mirror those of the company Response 2 National and organizational culture have a definite influence on compensation Logically if a organization is based in a location where there is a focus on family then compensation efforts may include flex schedule or vacation time There may also be an organization that is located in a place where culture is more focused on materialistic items and therefore the compensation may be more in the financial aspect because that is what the people of that region hold in high regard Compensation is an important motivator but it is was for the company to also know what type of compensation will best motivate the staff A company may have employee s that are impressed with overtime but there may be others who are not so moved by money and would pass up a promotion if it ment losing to much time with family 2
