Note: in some cases, Appendices A and B ‘may’ help, especiallyOOD.Deliverables / Presentations:*See separate handout with link Project Deliverables and Schedule on my home page:http://www.unf.edu/~broggioGrade Guidelines: 1. Students must average at least 70% in the examinations. This willinclude the grade on ethical and social implications of computing in orderto pass the course - (Grade “C” or better). While a “D” is passing, for CISmajors a “C” is necessary in the major. Each test will be worth 100 points.2. Specific guidance for the projects and their associated documentationwill be given in a separate document and discussed in great detail at thattime.3. For a course such as this, attendance and participation are absolutely critical. Learning from colleague’s work is part of the learning process. A. Excessive non-contribution by a team member for group work may result in that member not passing this course.B. Each student has three unexcused absences. A fourth (seventh) absence will result in a letter grade drop inyour final grade.C. The course will have a good number of presentations. One of the most critical skills an IT professional must possess is theability to communicate effectively. Presentation skills as well as content will be graded.Course Philosophy: 2This is the second of the two part Senior Project sequence – the capstoneset of courses for Information Science / Information System majors. This course is primarily an implementation course. However, there are afive remaining chapters of the textbook that need to be covered (primarilyinput/outputs and the user interface; construction and operations/maintenance). Iwill be providing several lectures on Design and these lecture materials will beavailable on my web page as power point slides. The project deliverables are the main components this semester, andcreating them will require a good bit of your time. The specific expectations anddeliverables are available on a separate link on my web page. There will be a number of ‘workdays’ this semester. These are days whichare traditionally dedicated to your working the project. However, we will bemeeting a number of times together – teams and me – as required. Do nothesitate to get with me when problems or questions arise. I will be availableconsiderably more than posted office hours.I would like to emphasize again that participation of all team members isboth required and essential not only in this class, but in this career field. You areexpected to ask like IT professionals and, as such, participation in team efforts isnot an option – rather it is an expectation to ‘keep your job.’ Please treat teammeetings as such. Should unforeseen emergencies arise, please do not hesitate to contactme at the Computer and Information Sciences office upstairs at 620-2985.
