The TSI requires assessment, remediation (if necessary), and advising of students who attend a public college or university in the state of Texas. The program assesses a student’s basic academic skills in reading, writing, and math. Passing the assessment is a prerequisite for enrollment in many college-level classes such as English 1301/1302, History 1301/1302, Math 1414, etc. Students who do not meet assessment standards may complete prerequisite requirements by taking developmental courses in the deficient area and passing them with a grade of C or higher. In some cases retesting will also be required. It is up to each student to be aware and informed about requirements that are subject to change. Additional information is available from the TSI Office. https://www1.dcccd.edu/cat0910/admiss/tsi.cfm?loc=4Page 2 of 5 Student Learning Outcomes Course Objectives: Evaluation Procedures: Evaluation Procedures: EVALUATION: TESTS = 500 points – T/F & Multiple choice Test 1 = 100 points Test 2 = 100 points Test 3 = 100 points Test 4 = 100 points Test 5 = 100 points PROJECTS = 100 points Project 1 = 25 points Project 2 = 25 points Project 3 = 25 points Project 4 = 25 points ASSIGNMENTS = 400 Assignment 1 = 40 points Assignment 6 = 40 points Assignment 2 = 40 points Assignment 7 = 40 points Assignment 3 = 40 points Assignment 8 = 40 points Assignment 4 = 40 points Assignment 9 = 40 points Assignment 5 = 40 points Assignment 10 = 40 points MAXIMUM POINTS AVAILABLE = 1000 COURSE GRADE: *Point System To be converted to Eastfield College Grade System - 1000 - 899 - 799 - 699 = Below 600 Eastfield College Grade System: 100 – 90 = A 89 – 80 = B 79 – 70 = C 69 – 60 = D below 60 = F Each test will be taken in class and focus on material(s) covered since the previous test, but may include topics previously covered.
