You may wish topurchase gloves, hand lotion, etc. (Caution: Exposure toformaldehyde has been linked to cancer in rats. Surgicalgloves are recommended for use with handling preservedspecimens. Any student with special health considerationsor conditions should inform their lab instructor and seekspecial instructions regarding exposure in labs.COURSE DESCRIPTION: A survey of the structure, function, and development ofhuman systems.COURSE OBJECTIVES: 1) To acquaint the student with the anatomicalorganization of the human body, to include cellstructure and function, tissue, organs, and systemsorganization, and2) To trace the development of human systems.COURSE CONTENT: 1) Cell structure2) Developmental anatomy3) Tissues4) Organs5) Systems6) Human body organization7) Anatomical OrientationBy the end of the course the student will have demonstrated the ability to identify and/ordescribe 1) Human body organization2) Anatomical orientation3) Cell structure and functions4) Tissue organization5) Organ structure and function6) System organization and functionEVALUATION: Four Lecture/Lab Quizzes 60%Paper & Oral presentation 15%Final Comprehensive Exam 25%ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:1) You will be expected to have read the assigned material prior to lecture.2) You will be expected to have read applicable lab manual exercises.3) You must bring the laboratory manual to lab.4) You will be expected to endorse the following HONOR PLEDGE on everyquiz/exam:On my honor as a University of South Carolina at Aiken student, I haveneither given nor received any unauthorized aid on theassignment/examination. To the best of my knowledge, I am not inviolation of academic honesty.5) No makeup exams will be given for the laboratory portion of the quizzes.
