Due October 2, 2006 (100 points).- Read Chapters 4 and 5.October 2 - Using Tax Concepts for Planning- Banking and Interest Rates- Submit a banking services scorecard for at least four (4) financial institutionsand indicate which you would choose and why. Due October 9, 2006 (50 points).- Read Chapters 7 and 8.9 - Assessing and Securing Your Credit- Managing Your Credit- Submit a report identifying at least five (5) steps that you can take to protect yourself from identity theft. This plan should be very detailed and include how various financial tools such as IRAs and 401(k)s will be utilized. Include specific dollar amounts. Due November 27, 2006 (50points).- Read Chapters 21 and 22.27 - Estate Planning- Integrating the Components of a Financial Plan- Submit a one to two page paper discussing your need for estate planning including a will. If you do not currently meet the requirements for needing a will, discuss fully what events in your future will necessitate a will or estate plan. Due December 4, 2006 (25 points).December 4 - Discussion on managing your financial plan- Prepare an inventory of the location of important documents. Due December 11, 2006 (25 bonus points).11 - Online grade conferences. Review your grades on Educator and notify me by 5 p.m. on this date of any questions.* On the JCC Website is a link to distance learning. Using the current student tab, you will see a tutorial on Educator. Use this tutorial to become familiar with how to use Educator to correspond with me, file your assignments and check your grades. The Workbook provides formats that could be used in preparing the majority of your assignments.You may use these formats and merely fill in your own information to complete your assignments.Submit all assignments through Educator using “Grades.” Assignments are to be submitted as either “.doc” or “.xls” documents.2II. To present a cohesive, written financial plan. (ADO 1a)The Board of Trustees has determined that all JCC graduates should develop or enhance certain essential skills while enrolled in the College. Several of these Associate Degree outcomes are addressed in this class as indicated above. They include:A. EDU 1 – Demonstrate the ability to understand and apply discipline-based information.B. ADO 1a – The ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and intelligently using writing skills.C. ADO 3 – Computational skills and understanding appropriate to the program of study.D.
