See the syllabus for the list of useful references. Homework Between 6 –7 problem sets. They will be posted on the class web site, and solutions will be due one week later.2 Late homeworks will be graded according to the following formula: ( )( )≥<≤⋅=−ptptestst,00,014/where t is the time when homework is turned in (measured in days from the due date t=0), s(t) is the homework score as a function of time, s(0) is the homework score on the due date, and p is the time when solutions are posted on the class web site (measured in days from the due date). Exceptions to grading according to this formula are possible in special circumstances, by contacting the instructor. Reading assignments from various sources (mainly articles from the current literature). We will have in-class discussions of assigned reading, mostly in the 2nd half of the quarter. Reading of these articles and participation in their discussions is required (otherwise, you may lose up to 10% of the class score).
