Eric Hammer 9 19 10 I recognize myself as a previous fixed learner and now as a malleable learner I used to complain about little things and now I am more concerned with the bigger picture If I were to fail a test about a year ago I would have done little if anything to chance my ways Now I brainstorm ideas on how I can improve and do better next time My family takes schoolwork very seriously As a child I always got straight A s Because my older brother was more of a B student my parents always had higher expectations for me My parents constantly say schoolwork comes first and I don t disagree But sometimes they may be a little too concerned and too strict However their ideas and morals have helped me greatly I know people who never had to study and now have trouble getting work done Because I was someone who always studied and got my work done I am better prepared now I believe that not procrastinating is crucial but unfortunately I do procrastinate It s important to me that my work is perfect I don t like handing in assignments that are not indicative of my educational ability Getting work done well and on time is key My motivation is the future My plan one day is to be a very successful businessman If my work isn t done well and on time my grades will be poor With bad grades I might be kicked out of the business school These are small details in the big picture I think about my possible future and that encourages me to get my work done
