ICT 435 – Senior Project - HyperV Server Environment Project Description (Teams)Description: Currently in the College of Engineering some online courses are using a VMware virtual environment for teaching computer classes. Examples of this include: Advanced Windows Server Administration – ICT364, Linux Operating Systems - ET255,Digital Forensics ICT/ET339, and others. VMware’s VCenter and ESXi server are Software as a Platform (SaaP) Cloud computingsolutions. The VCenter/ESXi solution allows students to log into VCenter using their NMSU username and password and allows an administrator to limit a student’s administrative rights to resource pools. Administrators have full rights to all resource pools and can set rights to allow students to see or not see different objects in the VCenterenvironment. Microsoft has a SaaP computing environment that uses Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) and their server hypervisor HyperV. Unlike VMware, Microsoft does not use theterm Resource Pools but does have “Private” or “Client” Clouds. Project Outcomes: For this senior project, Students would examine, document, and fully understand the current VMware Cloud model being used in the College of Engineering, Then they would research and create a proof of concept model in the Microsoft hypervisor environment that meets the following requirements:1. Students are able to log in using their My NMSU credentials2. Students are given full administrative access to a cloud/resource pool/ private space to create virtual machines3. Student cannot affect other student’s private space4. The administrator/instructor has full access and control of all private spaces.5. This needs to be expandable to include multiple hardware devices.(servers) Your Project contact is listed below Philip BrakerASST Professor ETSENMSU College of
