They are the following:- Ash inhalation (especially in people with bad asthma)- Eye irritation from ash- Visibility problems- Water contamination (drinking)- Crop failure- Kills aquatic life- FloodingThese notes represent a detailed interpretation of the professor’s lecture. They flow down the volcano at about 100mph. They travel across both land and water.Pyroclastic flows are associated with composite cones (andesite) and calderas (rhyolite). These are the most lethal part of the eruption because they incinerate everything in their path.EXAMPLES1. Mt. Pelee (1902) - Composite cone- Destroyed the town of St. Pierre- 30,000 killed but 2 men survived- One was in a dungeon jail cell- The other was in a house on the edge of the flow2. Mt.
