We do a variety of in-class activities involving other students and group participation. Those assignments may not be made up for any reason, thereforeattendance is vital. If absence is unavoidable the student is responsible for obtaining the missed lecture notes from another student. Please remember that office hours are not a replacement for class time. Exams may not be made up except under extreme circumstances (which are determined by the instructor – contact me immediately!!) 2Make-ups must be taken before the exam is passed out to the class (i.e. the next class period) or a zero will be given for that exam.Grading Policy and Scale: A 2.0 or "C" is a passing grade. Only courses with passing grades count toward graduation. Other colleges transfer in only courses with passing grades. Many financial aid sources, including most employers, require passing grades. Additionally, earning less than a 2.0 in a class results in being unable to participate in the next level of courses in a discipline which requires this course as a pre-requisite. Registering for the next course sequence without passing the pre-requisite course may result in you being dropped from that class. Grading Scale: Grading Policy:90 -100% 4.0 85 - 89% 3.5 Online HW Quizzes: 250 pts = 25%80 - 84% 3.0 Labs, In-class Quizzes, etc: 150 pts = 15%75 - 79% 2.5 4 Exams: 400 pts = 40%70 - 75% 2.0 Cumulative Final: 200 pts = 20%65 - 69% 1.560 - 64% 1.0 TOTAL = 1000 pts = 100%0 - 59% 0.0Homework Quizzes: Homework for this course is done online through MyMathLab/CourseCompass. You get there by going to www.coursecompass.com. To access the quizzes, you must enter the site, log on, and click on the “Take a Test” Button.Select the appropriate quiz you are ready to take, take the quiz, and submit your grade. The grade will be entered into the online grade book, thus you will be able to see your score instantly posted. NOTES : Our Course ID is: _________________- A full schedule of assignments and due dates is given out at the start of the course. Please note that deviations from this schedule may be needed.- You have three tries to do the quizzes correctly before you submit them. Thus, most of your quizzes should receive full credit, if you keep trying until you get a perfect score.- You can also do more problems for practice and get help in MyMathLab (including step-by-step instructions and watching videos). Use the full capabilities of MyMathLab to get a better score on both quizzes and in the course as a whole. Labs, Quizzes, etc.: There will be two separate labs in the course, each with a write-up to be done individually by the student. Also, there will be in-class points available that can not be made up if the student is absent.3Exams: Every exam has a few cumulative review questions on it. The final exam is cumulative
