Type of computer: a workstation in the category of a Precision T7500 or a very powerful custom desktop PC . You must customize the computer system to meet the requirements.ABC Consulting is a small company specialized in providing IT services tobusinesses in the Midwest. One of the main activities of ABC is helping itsclients acquire hardware and software solutions that are consistent with theirlong term IT strategic plan. One of ABC’s clients, a civil engineering company,has hired a new engineer. Your boss at ABC has analyzed the client’s need inrelation to their IT strategic plan and has come up with the “assessment ofneeds” document shown in Appendix A.Activity 1: You are asked to shop online in order to choose a computer systemthat meets the requirements as laid out in the “assessment of needs”. Themaximum amount of money you can spend is $7400.00. You can choose thecomponents from more than one online store if needed. Most online storesallow you to print your shopping cart. So, once you have finished selectingthe components, you should print the computer configuration (or shoppingcart) and, if possible, save an electronic copy just in case you need to printanother copy. The printout must show the site address and the date.Activity 2: Your boss also wants you to shop online, separately, for a 1Terabyte solid state drive. The drive should be compatible with the computersystem you choose in Activity 1 so that, if needed, it can replace one of itshard drives. Once you have finished choosing the drive, you should print itsdescription from the online store including the overview and the technicalinformation. The printout must show the site address and the date.Activity 3: Next, you need to write a memo (2 to 3 pages, single-space) usingthe template found on the last page of this assignment in order to explain therole of the main hardware and software components of the computer systemsyou have purchased. The memo should be written to the attention of yourboss, Mr. Teddy Belgo, who has a very limited knowledge about computersystems. You should use the modified IPO model seen in class to describe thecomputer system in your memo. The role of each of the subsystems found in the modified IPO model. Your explanation must include the role of each majorcomponent. You must customize the computer system to meet the requirements. Processor: Intel type of processor capable of processing at least 2,400,000,000 instructions per second. The Front Side Bus (FSB) must be capable of making at least 5 billion transfers (GT) per second between the processor and the RAM. Primary storage: The Random Access Memory must be at least 4 Gigabytes to accommodate processing needs. The memory must be on four or more memory sticks or DIMMS. This is required to make the computer system consistent with the existing computersat the company. Video/Graphic Card: Because the company uses a lot of graphic-intensive applications, a 2 GB (or better) card that support up to three monitors or more is required. Input devices: a Keyboard, a mouse with a mouse pad.Output devices: a single 22 inch (or bigger) LCD monitor, and speakersSecondary storage: a hard disk drive (HDD) and an optical secondary storage device that would allow watching digital video disks and burning CDs and DVDs. The HDD controller should be an SATA controller with the possibility of plugging up to two drives. The storage capacity of the HDD should be at least 2 Terabytes (in total).
