It is the STUDENTS responsibility to drop a class; the instructor will not withdraw a student from a class; failure to attend classes without the student properly dropping the class with result in a grade of “F” for thestudent.COSC 2311-SA02 Page 2 of 5Division of Business Computer ApplicationsCourse Syllabus – Winter 2007COURSE POLICIESClass Attendance PolicyDuring this course, students are expected to attend all classes and to be on time. Students are responsible for all assignments and lecture material including material missed during any absences. Students are expected to makeup any missed work due an absence or tardiness.All absences must be explained to the instructor, who will then determine whether the omitted work may be made up. When a student reaches that number of absences considered by the instructor to be excessive, the instructor will so advise the student and file an unsatisfactory progress report with the campus dean. Any student who misses 25 percent or more of the regularly scheduled class meetings will receive a grade of F in the course. Additional attendance policies for each course, as defined by the instructor in the course syllabus, are considered a part of the University's attendance policy.Students missing 2 classes will be considered as performing unsatisfactory and will be report to the dean. Students missing 3 or more classes will receive a grade of F in the course.It is the student’s responsibility to make up any work missed due to an absence. Calculators and computers are prohibited during examinations and quizzes, unless specified. Reasonable laptop-size computers may be used in lecture for the purpose of taking notes.Examination and Assessment PolicyStudent progress will be measured by administering three tests and 4 projects (Word Processing, Spreadsheet, Database and Presentation). Three examinations will be given. No make-up exams will be allowed without prior arrangements being made. Make-up exams must be taken when scheduled. Students assume full responsibility for the content and integrity of the academic work they submit.
