You will need to do a quantitative paper. The paper describing the proposed study should be written in APA style and contain 1) an abstract, 2) an introduction (with at least ten reference citations), 3) a methods section, (in which the design is explained), 4) a results section in which mention is made of which statistical test would be used to analyze the data if data were collected (do not make up data), 5) a discussion section, 6) a reference section, and 7) informed consent form. The report should be at least 9 pages long, double-spaced, APA style (http://www.nova.edu/library/dils/lessons/apa/). There is no maximum amount of pages. Reference numbers are minimums (which are equivalent to average work). Please do not use websites. Only academic journals and books. For the quantitative proposal, this will need to be an EXPERIMENT. This means there should be at least one independent variable that you are manipulating and at least one dependent variable. Please do NOT do any survey or correlational studies. The paper should be pertinent to something in the counseling field. If you have questions about the design, please bring it up in class, on the WebCT discussion board or email or call/email me before the paper is turned in. To see examples of these proposals, please visit my website at www.nova.edu/~mdreiter Please note that these are only general guidelines of the depth and quality of the paper. Do NOT copy parts of these papers and just make minor alterations (that would be plagiarism). Further, these samples may not be true APA style (and they do not conform to the latest APA format). Please refer to the APA style manual as the true guide to appropriate style. As far as plagiarism, it will not be tolerated. I will be using turnitin.com to ensure that papers are original works. If you use someone else’s words, please use quotations marks to let the reader know which are your words and which are someone else’s. If you do not use someone else’s words, but do use their ideas, please ensure you are giving them due credit by putting a reference citation in the paper [i.e. Smith distinguishes four kinds of altruisism (Smith, 2004)].Turnitin.com: You
