Hope that helped I’m not sure why hydro is the lowest but I can tell you why chitin is the highest if you want?Generally, the chitninous shell will have the greatest cost because, as you state, it must be replaced every time the organism grows bigger, whereas the CaCO3 shell just has to keep up with growth through incremental increases. However, in todays acidic ocean, the cost of CaCO3 shells are increasing11) How do excessive carbon emissions alter your answer to #10?
