Why use GradeBuddy?

GradeBuddy offers high quality lecture notes, study guides, practice exams and flashcards, intended to supplement and extend the overall learning experience for every student. Our Lecture Notes provide an additional resource in the learning process, allowing students to focus on the audible and visual parts of the lecture. We aim to help students concentrate on listening and absorbing the material, not note-taking.

What services does GradeBuddy offer?

GradeBuddy offers an array of services all aimed to improve and increase the efficiency of our users. Helping you study smarter, not harder.

GradeBuddy Offers:

Subscription Courses- Quality lecture notes and study guides created by in-class note-takers sold on a subscription basis.

Course Packets- Premium Course Packets are a complete set of notes and study guides organized and bundled together, providing a comprehensive review of your course. Purchase a premium membership to gain full and unlimited access to ALL Course Packets.

Study Resources- High quality individual study guides, practice exams and lecture notes related to your courses uploaded by someone who previously took your class. Purchase a premium membership to gain full and unlimited access to ALL Study Resources.

FlashCards- Create your own flashcards or access the best of what your classmate have created, all in one place. The simplest, fastest, most beautiful way to study anything, for free - forever.

Can I get stuff for free?

Yes! You can earn GradeBuddy credits which can be used to purchase a premium membership.

Upload all your documents- Upload your best study materials and tag them with the related fields they belong to.Once you upload all your documents, within 48 hours an editor will review your submission and assign GradeBuddy credits to each document based on the quality. Go to our Upload Page to get started.

Invite all your friends- Send a invite to all your classmates and friends to join GradeBuddy and earn 200 credits for every friend that signs up. Go to our Invite Page to get started.

II. Subscribe

What is a Course Subscription?

GradeBuddy offers two services for our Course subscriptions:

Notes & Study Guides Courses: Provides notes for every lecture and a study guide before exams created by an in-class note-taker.

Study Guides Courses: Provides only a study guide before exams created by an in class note-taker.

Purchase at anytime and get access to what’s been published from the beginning of the semester.

How does it work?

An in-class notetaker compiles notes for every lecture and uploads them within 1-2 days. Study guides are uploaded 1-2 days before each exam. Notetakers are interviewed, reviewed, and approved, meeting the highest qualifications before being hired.

How much does a Subscription package cost?

Notes & Study Guides Subscriptions cost $36.95.

Study Guide Subscriptions cost $32.95.

When are the Subscription notes available?

Subscription notes will be available within 48 hours after each lecture. Once each lecture note is submitted by our note-takers, we review each document to ensure that it is up to our standard of quality before it becomes available online.

Can I preview the Subscription notes?

Yes. You can preview any of the available notes for a course subscription before you purchase. Previews will show roughly 20% of the full document.

Can I download the notes?

Unfortunately, due to piracy concerns we do not allow the notes to be downloaded. We are striving to make the online document viewing experience as pleasant as possible. Our document viewer is HTML5-based with fullscreen mode and annotations. Please get in touch with us if you have any feedback or concerns on this issue.

Can I purchase a single lecture note from a subscription package without paying for the whole subscription?

Yes. Individual lecture notes and study guides are available without having to purchase a whole subscription.

Can I share the notes?

Please do not. Providing quality, consistent notes costs money and we must meet a minimum number of subscribers in each class in order to be able to provide note-taking services. If we are unable to meet the minimum number of subscriptions, the class will be canceled. Your subscription enables us to take notes in many classes and help a lot of students.

If I buy the notes near the middle or end of the semester, do I still get notes from the beginning of the semester?

Yes. You can purchase a subscription any time throughout the semester and still gain access to all the previous notes and study guides for that class.

How do I pay for the notes?

You can add any subscription packages and/or single notes or study guides you’d like to your shopping cart and pay via any major credit card.

Do subscription classes ever get cancelled for note-takers?

Yes, there will be times when we are forced to cancel a class. If we do not reached a minimum number of subscribers, we may have to cancel. This is why we encourage our users to spread the word by using our invite page and message their classmates about the services offered by GradeBuddy. If a class is canceled, students will receive a prorated refund. With a prorated refund, you will receive the full price you’ve paid minus the cost of the notes you already received.

Can I get a refund?

The GradeBuddy policy is that we want our users to be happy with their purchase. If you ever feel like you’re not satisfied, let us know, and we will gladly return your money.. Please send all refund requests to

Can I request a class?

Yes. We always welcome class requests and any feedback on how to improve our services. You can send your class requests to and we will do our best to find a note-taker.

Can I be a note-taker?

Yes. You can apply to become a note-taker for a specific class in your school. Go to our Application page to get started.

III. Premium Membership

What is a premium membership?

A premium membership offers exclusive access to the best study materials on GradeBuddy.

Course packets are a complete set of notes and study guides organized and bundled together, providing a comprehensive review of your course, and are available to Premium Members only.

What are Study Resources?

Study resources are course materials uploaded onto the GradeBuddy website from students who have taken these courses before. Study resources include, but are not limited to, past lecture notes, assignments, syllabi, and practice exams.

IV. Flashcards

What are flashcards?

Create your own flashcards or access the best of what your classmate have created, all in one place.

Studying hard doesn't guarantee good grades but studying smart does. Our flashcards will help you figure out quickly what you know, what you don't know, and what you need to spend more time on.

Are flashcards free?

Yes and they always will be! Whether it be mastering a new language or learning a new subject, greatness awaits you the more you learn.
