Please go to http://www.stat.tamu.edu/stat30x/download/.Username and password will be provided in class.Download the zip file.UNZIP it.Click on the executable file ST5ProCrs in the UNZIPPED folder to run it.2. Click on Start->All Programs->Palisade Decision Tools->StatTools 1.1 for Excel.This will bring up Excel with StatTools as a Macro.2a. If you get a security dialog, press the Enable Macros button.2b. If the Enable Macros button is not selectable, cancel out of the dialog and close Excel.Re-open Excel and go to Tools->Macro->Security.In the Security dialog, select the MEDIUM security level and press OK.Close Excel.You must REPEAT STEPS 2 and 2a above after changing the security settings.3. Close and re-open Excel.Go to Tools->Add-Ins.In the dialog, press the Browse button.Navigate to <Local Disk>\Program Files\Palisade\StatTools\, select the file ’StatTools’ and press OK.4. There should be two SELECTED items for StatTools in the Add-Ins dialog.Press OK to close the dialog.5. StatTools is now linked with Excel.There is a tool bar and menu item associated with StatTools.2 Data Manager• Copy the data of interest and paste it in Excel by a right click, choose Paste Special, Unicode Text.Keep your data highlighted.• Click the button Data Manager to choose what variables or columns to be considered for further dataanalysis.12 StatTools3 Understand StatTools’ TerminologiesThere are terms like• independent variable, or regressor for explanatory variable.• dependent variable for response variable.• “Constant” for interceptWhen you run regression, you have to identify independent variable by clicking the box with symbol “I”,and dependent variable by clicking the box with symbol “D”.In the output table of a regression analysis, you will find intercept by going to the row labeled with “Con-stant”, the slope by going to row labeled with the name of the independent
