Describe ways in which the patient’s safety can be promoted in the home and health care setting.2. Discuss the nurse’s role in emergency preparedness.3. Discuss safety risks across the lifespan.4. Describe safety devices used in health care settings, and indications for their use.5. Describe nursing responsibilities for fire safety.6. Describe preventive strategies to decrease the incidence of patient falls.7. Utilize the nursing process to develop a plan of care for a patient with safety needs.8. Explain ways to maintain a safe environment for patients with sensory alterations.9. Describe the role of the skeletal, muscular, and nervous system in the physiology of movement.10. Identify variables that influence body alignment and mobility.11. Differentiate isotonic, isometric, and isokinetic exercise.12. Develop a teaching plan for the patient with impaired body alignment and joint mobility.13. Outline the correct procedures for lifting.14. Describe the effects of exercise and immobility on major body systems.15. Discuss the safe use of assistive devices when ambulating and positioning patients, including proper body mechanics.16. Describe the psychosocial effects of immobilization.17. Utilize the nursing process to plan care for an immobilized patient.18. List the essential information that is included in a correctly stated medication order.32. Discuss the legal and safety time parameters related to drug administration.33. Outline information necessary in obtaining a patient’s medication history.34. Use the nursing process to meet patient needs specific to medication administration.35. Discuss factors unique to an individual that influence drug actions.36. Describe factors to consider in choosing routes of drug administration.37. List the 5 rights of drug administration.38.
