Basic Surface EditorCharles Van Steyn•The surface editor has many different options and at first glance can appear overwhelming.•Once the functions of the different options are revealed the application of the options become much easier to work with. The Surface editor is located near the top left of the screen. In this tutorial I will start with color and go down the list ending with smoothing.Clicking on the gray box across from color will bring up the color box displayed above and there a basic color may be selected.Default LuminosityDiffusionLuminosity will make your surface brighter and somewhat emit light. Diffusion will scatter the light and soften it.Specularity creates a shine on the surface. as you can see the one on the left is set to 33% where as the one on the right is set to 100%.The glossiness cannot be changed unless there is at least some specularity applied to the surface. A texture must be applied to the bump mapping option for it to work.No Smoothing SmoothingLastly smoothing can be located at the bottom. There is a box there that when checked will apply smoothing to your surface where polygons connect. Thanks for viewing my tutorial.I hope you have fun editing your
