Kim 1 Hye Jin Kim Prof Andrew Weaver TEL T 101 6 October 2014 Dating App Tinder Nowadays many people prefer to build their relationship in a roundabout way rather than face to face as it is possible to meet people with digital devices such as computers and smartphones To meet consumer s needs many various dating apps start to emerge to meet consumer needs Among them one of the most popular dating apps is Tinder Tinder is dating app which allows people to choose their dates by presenting other s picture age and location In Tinder people press heart shape or X shape as watching dates picture When people press heart shape to persona grata as watching picture screen shows matched people if the other people press heart to them and then they can chat each other In this paper I will discuss how Tinder helps relationship as well as how improve Tinder than now Tinder helps people to find dates more easily than before in online Tinder is based on hyper personal model which means computer or apps mediated communication That is Tinder exceeds face to face interaction Through Tinder many people get out of limited relationship and pursue broad relationship between male and female Unlike previous dating apps Tinder uses GPS system and only shows dates whom live a stone s throw By linking Facebook and presenting appearance age and location Tinder allows people to join this app more easily and find their dates based on their ideal type Moreover Tinder understands most people have a good feeling toward dating s appearance at first and use physical attractiveness strategy as well as social attractiveness strategy According to Scott 2014 he states that popularity can influence on perception of physical attractiveness as well as social attractiveness in social networking service Scott 2014 Thanks to these strategies many people download Tinder app and meet various dating and establish relationship more easily Kim 2 than before To improve Tinder than now Tinder has to consider
