A Utopian MomentCurrent Lecture:Blade Runner: 1. Labor: The use of the word “off-world” – slave labor, colonization, artificial spaces. Population isn’t defined by race or gender or ethnicity, privileged and slaves separate them. - Progressive class-consciousness – I understand my place in society and am starting to reject it. The Human - Replicate Dedifferentiation: Moments where the human and the robotic collapse into one another, inability to see difference between two, fragile boundaries. A Utopian Moment: Can we undergo experiences that are outside of our design; can we notice and appreciate things that haven’t been pre-programed for us?
