Ishtar – Goddess of Babylon for which the holiday “Easter” is names. 1. Gods of agriculture were always women because the earth represents fertility. “Mother earth.” 2. People could go to the temple and have sex with a maiden in place of Ishtar and if the maiden was pleased, she would transfer that pleasure to Ishtar and the crops of the person would grow. 2. Athena - Goddess of Wisdom who was born from the head of Zeus. This is because, in the words of Dr. Brownstein, “Wisdom comes from the head, not the genitals.” 3. Zeus – God of thunder, law, justice, etc. fell in love with a human woman and came to earth in the form of a white swan to have sex with her. She had twins who were said to have been the ones who started Rome. 4. Persephone, Goddess of Grain and Spring Growth – The daughter of Zeus and Demeter was taken by Hades, God of the underworld, to keep him company and serve him sexually. When Zeus said he wanted Persephone back, Hades said no and they struck a deal. Persephone was to stay with Hades for half the year and with Demeterand Zeus for half the year. The part of the year that she was with her mother she was happy and crops grew. The part of the year she was with Hades, crops did not grow. This is where seasons come from. 2. Religions and Philosophies1. Spiderwoman – a figure that is responsible for the creation of man andthe stars according to the Navajo. It’s said that she spun a web so thatpeople could crawl from underground, where we lived prior, up Spider Rock in Canyon de Chelly, AZ and colonize Earth. 2. Hinduism1. Rain represents the fertilizer the sky provides to the earth to make it produce. Similar to a man inseminating a woman, the rain does the same for earth. 5. Judaism1.
