Kin 470 Notes during lab 3:- Help with exam:o Wingate Revolutions vs. time increments (5 mins, 10 mins, etc) Some people accelerated up for first few minutes then declined ATP –CP first 10 seconds, extremely fast Lactate is highest at end – product of glycolosis Glycogen, glucose, pyruvate  lactate Creating so much pyruvate that you can’t shuttle a lot into oxbox, turns into lactateo Submax VO2 climb Oxygen deficit- Oxygen that missing EPOC- Excess post exercise oxygen ALL energy are always running*** big thing- VO2 max today:o Hydrogen ions – acid part, the accumulation causes the pH to dropo Training adaptation: Wingate – increase in buffer capacity Muscle able to buffer hydrogen atoms better so pH doesn’t drop as much- 1st participanto methods assigning job taking participant information (weight, height, etc) starts to pedal at 60 Watts- warm up- no resistance- 2-3 minutes put mask on participant to start, increase resistance to 1 participant needs to breathe and keep it at 60 Watts- * side note most people last 10-12 minutes*- need to watch RER – needs to be above 1- watch to see if RPM’s drop toward end- increase resistance by 1 continuously increase resistance need to reach a plateau in VO2 – this signifies Vo2 max participant plateaud around 53 cool down until HR returns to normalo initial HR: 112o made it a minute into resistance of 6- participant 2:o gender: female, age 21, weight: 140o 1-2 hours 5-6 days per week each session, 1 hour cardio, 1 hour resistance cardio: running, 3-5 miles (3-4 days per week) rowing resistance is heavy (hasn’t done cross fit in a while)o physical activity: 5- O2 consuption and Co2 consumption on one graph- Summarize data- Answer questions- Go over methods- Table of
