Course Taught in Spanish. III. Course Description: This course proposes a sample of exemplary poets of Iberia, moving from the “Generación del 98” to the end of the 20th Century, ending with the inclusion of postmodernism in Iberian Literature. In this course we will focus on themes such as Spanish nationalism, the introduction of European literary and social currents in and outside of Spain (from Portugal in particular), the “españolización” of these influences and the possibilities of where poetry in Spain / Iberia may be heading in the 21st Century. IV. Course Objectives: a) to expand knowledge of the Hispanic world and its cultures through literature and the social, economic and political themes developing from it. b) to develop comprehension on how poetic techniques and stylistic features are structured and the impact they have on the reader. V. Academic Honesty Statement: Every KSU student is responsible for upholding the provisions of the Student Code of Conduct, as published in the Undergraduate and Graduate Catalogs. Incidents of alleged academic misconduct will be handled through the established procedures of the University Judiciary Program, which includes either an “informal” resolution by a faculty member, resulting in grade 3adjustment, or a formal hearing procedure, which may subject a student to the Code of Conduct’s minimum one semester suspension requirement.
