ASEN3200Lab O-3Due 3/7/06** All allotted points are for the specified item AND discussion related to sed itemThat is, include equations, etc. where appropriate **Abstract: 5 pointsSummary. Not too long.Intro and Preliminary Analysis: 10 points1. Introduce the lab and give context for why you are doing it. (3)2. Verify the equation for either ..X,..Y, or ..Z by forming X, Y, or Z, respectively. Include a description of what Φ is (quantitatively AND qualitatively) and note what the derived variable physically represents. Derivation should be included in an appendix with the results given in the body ofthe report. (7)Experiment and Results: 30 pointsPlease put all code in an Appendix, but reference its location in the body of the report.1. Matlab code (in Appendix) to perform numerical integration of the equations of motion for the perturbed orbit. Be sure to include information on tolerances used, time period, and the time steps used in ode45(). (8)2. Matlab code (in Appendix) to perform numerical integration of the equations of motion for a two body orbit with the same initial conditions. (5)3. Plot of orbital elements through time (a,e,i,,, time since perigee). (5)4. Plot of deviation of energy and Z component of angular momentum from their values at epoch. (5)5. Plot RIC difference between the perturbed orbit and the two body orbit. Include an explanation (equations used, etc) for converting to RIC frame. (7)Analysis: 20 points1. Describe the variations of the orbital elements and note the frequencies that are present, i.e. secular, short period, and long period. Can you detect any long period perturbations? Why or why not? Are the energy and the Z component of angular momentum constant? (10)2. Plot of RIC differences between STK’s two-body and perturbed orbits. (5)3. Do the STK derived RIC plots differ from those you created in Matlab? If so, why? (5)Conclusions: 5 pointsSummary of results, and be sure to include ways the lab can be improved.Formatting: 20 pointsIncludes: table of contents, references, acknowledgements, appendices (where appropriate), grammar, spelling. Also, please follow these formatting guidelines:I. AbstractII. Introduction/ Preliminary AnalysisIII. Experiment and ResultsIV. AnalysisV. ConclusionsPeer Evaluation: -10 to 10 pointsSee peer evaluation sheet (to be handed out). If you do not complete a peer evaluation sheet, you will receive a zero. Your peer evaluation grade will then be the average of the marks from you peers and this zero.TOTAL:
