Regina Smith is the representative for this client. Employees of our client create flowcharts before they do system designs to the computer.How you got involved with the clientRegina is a member of our CEP 812 class and mentioned that she needed a training module for her staff. The team decided to contact Regina hoping to design a module.Problem / Need / Performance ProblemAs viewed by:Client / employees•The client states that there is a performance problem because staff assigned to make flowcharts don’t know how to make a flowchart or what its characteristics are.You•From the client interview, BET also sees that there is a performance problem with those assigned to make flowcharts.Consequences of not solving itIf this problem is not solved, employees will continue to: 1. Take a long time to complete flowcharts 2. Do flowcharts over because they are confusing to others.Target Audience(s) / Target Population(s)Who will benefit from finding a solutionThe staff of the Michigan Department of State will benefit immediately from a training module on designing flowcharts. Also, other employees of the State of MI who may be assigned this job duty would benefit..General Goals and Objectives What you expect to accomplishGiven a computer, flowchart assignment and the Visio 5.0 program, the Michigan Department of State employees will design flowcharts using the Visio 5.0 program that are clear, concise and show the proper characteristics of flowcharts..Plan / Methods Specific objectives of your assistanceThe BET team will create a training module for employees of the Michigan Department of State which•Provides the function for each shape used in flowcharts•provides the rules for using arrows•Defines feedback loops•Defines Decision AidsSteps / tasks you will perform to do the job & Estimated Time, Costs, ResourcesWeek of Mar 29th --Meet with client to discuss the problem, and gain information about the Target Population, goals, objectives, possible solutions and desired outcomes. --ID’s meet and discuss project phrases as well as project planning.Equipment: PC, flowcharts books(2.0hrs * $100/hr = $200)Week of Apr 5th --ID’s meet to discuss roles and responsibilities.--Start developing the self-instructional module (prelim).Equipment: PC, flowchart books (6.0 * $100 = $600)Week of Apr 19th --Develop a detailed version of the module.--Present client with module and get approval. This aid will assist the staff to be able to make flowcharts for procedural purposes. Also, when staff go to the VISIO 5 training, they will have a better understanding and motivation since they have the prerequisite knowledge of flowcharting.
