Jaylene Smith Prof P Mirchandani ENC1101 Tuesday November 23 2021 Rhetorical Analysis Reflection I learnt a lot about how to enhance my writing and how to arrange my ideas when writing after completing the rhetorical analysis This project has helped me realize how I need to write differently based on what I m writing about in order to be more effective with my writing I ve begun paying more attention to the environment as a result of the lecture which made me realize how critical the issue is and how it will influence our planet in the future This is a problem that everyone is familiar with but seeing a young leader like Greta Thunberg speak about it and describe how people throughout the world are suffering gives you an entirely fresh perspective on the situation This element taught me how to decipher the intentions and emotions of the speaker in order to conduct a thorough and accurate analysis of the speech This assignment pushed me to think of new ways to explain what I d learned from the speech I chose and study its many components because it was one of the longest papers I d ever written and it pushed me to think of new ways to convey what I d learned from the speech I chose because it was one of the longest papers I d ever written However writing this essay was difficult for me since it was different from the others I had done in previous English classes In previous English classes I had drafted a more detailed outline of my views for the essay One of the most difficult things of studying Greta s speech for me is putting myself in the audience s shoes and trying to grasp the meaning and intent of what she said With time I began to comprehend Greta s words more fully as well as the impact that her words had on the audience and the emotions that those words evoked I saw how all of these factors may help Greta achieve her objectives and I believe that this is something that everyone should understand since it can be very valuable in our daily lives Understanding rhetoric can be incredibly beneficial and influential in a person s life since it helps to explain why someone is speaking and allows them to express their message in a clearer and more effective manner It can assist us in expressing ourselves in our daily lives The most valuable component of this project for me as I work on my subsequent projects notably Project 2 is studying a monologue that addresses an issue that has an effect on both my present and future lives I handled the criticism admirably My thinking was described as good yet muddled which made sense considering that I had no idea what I was doing In my other project paper I made it a point to incorporate some form of organizing strategy Another issue I focused on while creating this piece was to use diverse phrases instead of the same statement over and over again for the same subject I had a bad habit of sticking to one or two ways of naming a specific object or an expression in general but during this project I tried my hardest to open the window and allow myself to use new terms which also helps me add more words to my vocabulary and feel prepared to use them out in the world
