Challenges in Human resource management Human resource being responsible for recruiting the employees selecting the candidates on the basis which will be best suited for their work Apart from recruiting the employees for the work the human resource department is facing tremendous problems these days in examining the best suited candidates for it The challenges that could probably arise is in terms of either personnel and globalisation As said by the Frederick Taylor the father of the scientific management about the Human resource still hold valid The belief was that the responsibility being carried out by the HR should be more accurate by proper analysis it should be observed which candidate is the best suited for the particular work and how much he she is eager to give his her effort towards it Furthermore matching of employees to a proper task imparting them a proper training for an efficient output checking out their skills and capabilities in order to have a proper organization growth is a bit difficult task to be carried out Besides all this aspects there are also a certain personnel aspects which are to be focussed upon like the employee personnel needs and requirement varying from person to person and place to place It may be possible that employee work place being located at a particular place which is not letting them to run their life with the given salary in that the salary should be adjusted and various other changes should be taken care of with respect to the diversifying culture of the workplace Various changing employee needs and requirement reflects a major challenge for the HRM professionals With respect to making them happier and expecting a good productivity a proper focussing should be done to their demands and needs Sims R and S Sims 1994 Various programmes should also be launched as per the various works in different sites possibly somewhere it should have been made available for people child care benefits Page 1 Challenges in Human resource management or the flexibility of working from home depending upon different workplace and culture various health care benefits to its family and so on Companies and organization firstly will have to identify the needs of its employees and accordingly the various packages is to be given at a particular site of work As compared to several other organizations like Yahoo this served their employees by a certain amount of shares in 1995 which became around 20 times when it is being compared to the present value Apart from this the various parties and celebration after the workplace at weekends make workers a bit relax and have cheerful and joyful moments and can have a fresh start from the upcoming week The most common situation that arises are the workers are asked to work for more hours and as a result of which is not being tolerable by the people for a long time So as compensation extra packages and place of interest should be organized by HRM professionals that will enable them to work for extra hours without any point of concern and can have their work done peacefully Similarly Sears Roebuck and Company which was in down turn for the last 10 years decided to change their current strategy and will have to plan a new one for a proper establishment in the market In 1993 it is being observed that a 9 increase in sales growth along with a 56 profit returns to their shareholders Within this period the company basically observed that the employee became more loyal to them as well as job when they are giving the freedom to have their own decision in the work and have a proper stress on dealing with the clients themselves And self decision made them take interest towards their work and also their improvement in loyalty and behavior towards the customers Apart from the personnel problems the major concern towards the Human resource management is the training and development process which serves a lot to the growth and development of a particular organization As far as the company is developing it will have to Page 2 Challenges in Human resource management work hard in order to have interconnection around the world and will also need a lot of efforts from their workers as well Schuler 2000 Up to now training and development has been largely restricted to local and regional efforts Briscoe 1995 Dowling et al 1999 An increasing emphasis is put on internal training and on job training Due to the availability of limited funds a proper training would not be imparted to employees Holden recognized that the intensifying globalization or the relative success of the nations like Japan Germany as well as Sweden where the investment and funding done on employee training is much more and making the employee sufficient to tackle out for any hard situations The various success and growth of the companies made employers realize that apart from the various training being deployed to them their efforts also contributed a lot which led to the advancement in the technology so far Such human resource management concepts as commitment to the company and the growth in the quality movement have led senior management teams to realize the increased importance of training and development Muhlemayer and Clarke 1997 In the current economic factor the major competition arising between the companies is in respect to their employees the more efficient workers the company will have the more growth it will achieve In order to have a proper as well as continuous growth as well as development the employee is being imparted with a proper training and has also to manage extra funds no matter how expensive is it as it can be seen as an investment in the coming future Moreover these two problems the personnel as well as the training and development problem are the major problem that is to be focussed upon these days failing which an organizational growth can never be forecasted or achieved Page 3 Challenges in Human
