1. Should Harbinson recommend further investment in Seven Peaks?Seven Peaks can be recommended, it has potential to be successful. However, before recommending there are some changes that need to be made to make, it successful. Theseare the things needed to make it better before Harbinson starts recommending:If we look at the interest in the startup, it did have interest but didn’t really get enough traction to get it moving. Some surgeons did show interest the device and ordered the device. There were two plans for consideration. The first one was going with Brandon’s startup even thought most experience he had was in the Research and Development of medical devices. Another plan was to make a line of forceps using the same nonstick properties. So, looking at these two plans does seem to have some potential for success inthe long term. Something lacking in the team was a business model. To run a successful company a solid business model is very important. Even Joe Scharfstein was concerned if Brandon’s team can put a business plan together or not. That’s why I think there was only one interest and a quote from a surgeon. They couldn’t attract a bigger market. Hence a business plan is something Brandon and the team need to work on to attract more customers. We didn’t know much about Brandon’s team. To make a startup successful, investors need team members with experience, qualifications, motivation, and energy to meet all the deadlines and most importantly should be able to perform the tasks effectively and correctly. That’s why I think these are some things to consider and act on before Harbinson recommends further investment in Seven Peaks. If the above-mentioned things are done, then I believe it will end up becoming a successful
