A program newsletter outlines clear, specific, easy to read, and pertinent information connecting the parents and families tothe child’s early childhood program. Program newsletter put emphasis on the idea that “When working together as equal partners, families and teachers come to know and support children more deeply, allowing families, teachers, and children to create meaningful learning opportunities at school and at home” (Summer, 8). This information can be elements such as events, tips, themes, pictures, and resources relating to month to month information goingon in the center. This is a way for parents and families to gain and obtain information they need critical to the program without being directly communicated with. c) Rationale:- I am using this resource because it allows parents and families a better understanding of what is going on in the early childhood program. Program newsletters can be helpful by opening the channel of communication betweenhome and school. The outcomes of the program newsletter will be to maintainparents and families informed communication of happening throughout the program, involving them in their child’s education, educating them on what their child is learning or will be learning, and creating a sense of community within the program by introducing and outlines events happing in the programwith parents and families. d) Sample: (include a screenshot or an electronic version of method)EEC3005CBE - Deliverable 4EEC3005CBE - Deliverable 4Method 2: a) Type of Electronic Communication: - Daily child record – to directly communicate with parents and guardians aboutthe child’s experiences at the programb) Description: - A daily child record is an indirect form of communication that provides parentswith information regarding their child’s daily activities while in the care of our early childcare program. These daily reports can include aspects such as food the child ate and how much, diaper changes, nap times, curriculum activities, and other pertinent information in the child’s day. The main purpose of a dailychild record is to inform families and parents of what the child did while in the care of educator in the early childhood program. This is important because this resource can “aim to increase the frequency and quality of parent-teachercommunication and send parents frequent individualized information about their students’ performance” (Kraft, 60).c) Rationale:- I am using this resource because it allows parents and families access to everything about their child’s day. Sometimes when parents and/or families are picking up their children, they do not have the time to stop and have a conversation with their child’s teachers. This allows the parents and families with busy schedules to not let communication barriers intervene on retrieving vital information that occurred with their child. This resource is also a very effective way for diverse families that do not have the means to have access to technology. Allowing this communication method in the program gives the family access to communication that they would not be able to receive or retrieve electronically on a computer. It is also a very beneficial resource when communicating with bilingual families where there may be a language barrier. The resource I have attached is in English, but filling the child’s daily report out in other languages native to certain families will not only help us to effectively communicate with families of our program, but also to respect the diversity, culture, and language of families in our program. d) Sample: (include a screenshot or an electronic version of method)EEC3005CBE - Deliverable 4EEC3005CBE - Deliverable 4Method 3: a) Type of Electronic Communication: - Email – how program communicate with parents and guardians about individual or specific mattersb) Description: -Email is a form of direct communication that is typically used with parents andfamilies when the program needs to discuss aspects that may need to stay confidential and specific to the child. This form of communication is much more personable because the parents and families are having direct contact with the program. It also allows you to quickly interact with parents and families throughout the day at times where you would not usually be able to discuss matter with them. The main purpose of email is to prevent misperceptions and meet the communication expectations of parents and families. This resources helps “increase the frequency and outreach of communication between families and early childhood programs” (Mitchell, Foulger, Wetzel, 46).c) Rationale:- I am using this resource because it helps draw a clear line of communication between parents, families, and the early childcare program. When emailing parents and families, you are showing them that you have taken the time and effort out of your day to reach out to them about an individual, matter, circumstance, or situation that pertains to their child and that it matters to you. Email will be helpful in better communicating families, parents, and staff by being able to give parents and families positive feedback about their children and keeping an open line of communication to these circumstances. For instance, “teachers can send e-mails to share short anecdotes about children’s developing interests, their newly acquired skills, or their ability to be a good friend that day. These types of positive, spontaneous communications can create two-way conversations when parents reply with similar anecdotes or questions” (Mitchell, Foulger, Wetzel, 47). The outcomes of using this resource in the program to communicate with families will be the ability for parents, and families of the children in our care to be able to discussany new issues, resolve any problems or inconsistencies, and accommodate their busy schedules. d) Sample: (include a screenshot or an electronic version of method)EEC3005CBE - Deliverable
