DIFFERENT TYPES OF SOILSOIL – is used to grow plants and other vegetation.- It is the topmost layer of the earths.- Most of the rocks of the earth covered by a layer of soil.1) Alluvial Soil – is the most fertile soil and is used extensively for agriculture.2) Sandy Soil – has a very poor ability to hold water and is not fit for agriculture.3) Loam Soil – is a mixture of clay and sandy soil.Man utilizes soil in many different ways: - Man grows plants on fertile soil. Plants are the source of food and energy for man.- Man uses various metals and minerals like iron, copper, aluminium, mica, diamonds etc. for various industries and in various products.- Soil also used by man to make houses, pottery, utensils, objects of art, porcelain etc.- Soil absorbs rainwater avoiding floods and damage caused by floods.- Man learned the art of constructing underground which makes available space on the ground for other activities. Like underground constructions: drain and sewage system, trains, buildings (basement), cable for electricity, communication
