Provide one leadership characteristic for each of the three theories: behavioral, contingency, and contemporary. How might you incorporate these characteristics into your own personal leadership style?*Remember to reference your response to the week 1 readings.In order to lead one must at one point in their life have had to be a follower. Most often when one has not followed those under that person would like to know about their life experiences. This is also a trait that human resource would asked a applicant about there role as a leader , or leader capabilities. Behavioral characteristics are theories suggest that personality is a result of interaction between the individual and the environment. Behavioral theorists study observable and measurable behaviors, rejecting theories that take internal thoughts and feelings into account. Freud believed the three components of personality were the id, the ego, and the superego. The id is responsible for all needs and urges, while the superego for ideals and moral. The ego moderates between the demands of the id, the superego, and realityA""contingency"theory emphasizes the importance of both the leader's personality and the situation in which that leader operates A contemporary theory"is expressing ideas that are needed in this time in which we all live.".I would incorporate these styles to show that I am a good listener and that I am open minded and able to communicate different issues that may come up under my leadership. I would display a sense of respect for all individuals and incorporate good ideas into the company that would work for those involved.One leadership characteristic of Behavioral theories is the democratic leadership style in which" an individual is motivated by internal drives and impulses. These people are active and they get the task done and participate to work toward achievement. A Contingency theories has a leadership characteristics of authoritarian an example of this is when a nurse takes charge in a situation such as cardiac arrest. A leadership characteristic of Contemporaryis the quantum leadership and this is not based on how much you did it is based on the outcome that you produced. I use democratic leadership style when we have contest at work knowing that there will be a prize at the end will motivate me to do my best. I always use authoritarian at work because I am an assistant manager and I have the authority to give my coworkers daily assignments to complete.
