Dq 1 and 2Dq 1As a mother, l would hate to see my children suffer, and cannot begin to imagine how I would handlebeing in such a situation. That being said, murder is illegalfor a reason. I believe that this mother is morally and legally culpable. Where is one to draw the line? When does itbecome killing for mercy rather than just killing?The only people that know for sure the amount ofsuffering the two sons were going through isthe sons themselves. One can hear testimony from experts and other sufferers but each individual is unique. The men may have been suffering but was it their wish to die?Dq 2I believe one of the reasons criminal culpability is difficult to determine is that individuals are not always truthful and are going to do and say whatis in their interest. If an individual is facing criminal charges and knows that hisor her "punishment" couldbe lessened if it is determined that he or she wasnot intending on committing a crimehe or she will do what they can to make others believe that he or she was notout to doharm.
