 Review the scenario below and answer the questions that follow: XYZ Health Department provides services to county residents. Budget cuts have forced the department to cut back on some services and lay off several staff, increasing the workload of other staff. Morale among staff has declined, and county residents have complained that they are not treated with dignity and respect and are not receiving high quality care and service. o What strategies can XYZ Health Department implement to provide high quality care and services to the county residents and to help increase customer satisfaction? o How can these strategies help minimize risk and improve quality? Provide specific examples to support your answers.The strategies that XYC Health Department can use to implement high quality care and service tot he country residents and help increase customer satisfaction is to first encourage the employees and let them know they are doing a job well done. The staff will need various types of support in order to deliver high quality care to patients. There is nothing like working short hand and still trying to satisfy customers. It will be best that clients be offered a method choice, safe contraceptive practices, privacy, confidentiality, dignity, comfort and continuity of care. To ensure that the patients receive the quality care needed staff will need the appropriate knowledge, skills, supplies, clinical environment, and motivation. Being that some of the staff had to be laid off it is best that you reward the remaining employees that stayed with the company. Happy employees will make the organization run efficiently with or without the proper staffing. Implementing a good risk and quality management program will also improve customer satisfaction while giving the employees knowledge on quality andrisk management.These strategies will help improve quality and risk because patients like to feel comfortable when choosing a health care provider. Gaining a patients trust is hard and if the staff xan prove that they are good at what they do while providing that customer with the quality of care that is needed will mean so much to them. Implementing a risk management program will help with medical errors and minimizerisk. Improving the quality of care is all about the patients and keeping them happy and satisfied if they are happy the quality of care is being provided.Response 2The XYZ DEPT. needs to let the employees know that the employees they have are a value tothe area and without them the area people would have no one. Let the staff know that they areappreciated and valued and you realize just how hard they work. You should help when able to help. If necessary provide more training. When scheduling the work load around the county try and schedule people closer so they do not have to travel large distances so they do not have to waste time. When giving out workloads make sure that everyone has their share of work so nobody gets over worked. As a manager give pep talk and let your employees know they are do a good job and let them know how they are doing and what the people thing. If possible offer small rewards such as extra 30 minute lunch or buy the employee who gets the highest reviews for the week lunch. These can minimize risk because people will be scared that if they do not do a good job they will be laid off next. These will help keep workers happy and make them happier knowing they are appreciated and that people who need them and make them care about the quality of their
