Anh Nguyen Professor Destiny Richards EN231 04 9 February 2020 Thread 1 Beowulf Battle with Grendel Line 677 687 Even though Beowulf is facing with a monster Grendel who has been ravaged mead hall Heorot for years he challenges and shows his confidence upfront the Geats Those lines have shown the characteristic of Beowulf that the author set on him Thread 2 Thread 3 Thesis Line 749 756 Grendel who is unaffected from weapons described nearly as a powerful ultimate creature occupying Heorot but his bone quailed and recoiled as facing a man It illustrates the strength of a warrior named Beowulf Line 840 851 It describes how terrible that Beowulf has done on Grendel with visual imagery Beowulf did not kill him but the fatal wound has set him to hell From the thread one it causes curiosity in the reader of whether Beowulf could beat Grendel or he tries to brag Then in the next thread the reader would be more curious about how Beowulf does to defeat Grendel when he is magically protected from weapons Instead of using a sword he uses his strength from his handgrip which has left a fatal wound to Grendel
