The course also administers a standardized assessment.Course objectives/learning goals: Review subject areas covered by the Major Field Test (MFT): accounting, finance, economics, international business, management, marketing, legal environment of business, quantitative analysis, and information systems.Course requirements and methods of evaluation:1. Complete the Major Field Test in Business. This will be done on campus on the computer in one of the Business computer labs. It is a two hour exam. The time will be arranged with the students near the end of the semester.2. Complete weekly quizzes as required on Moodle. Make sure you have your Caldwell College netid for logging in. These quizzes will be available for a limited time. There will be a due date for these quizzes and there will be no makeup quizzes. You will be allowed multiple attempts; however, if you fail to take the quiz by the posted due date you will receive a score of 0 for that quiz. You should try to complete the quizzes in a 20 minute time period since the final exam will also be timed. 3. Complete the empty outlines (EO) by using short phrases describing the item listed in the outline. Use paraphrases from the barcharts. Do not copy directly from the barcharts. Percent of grade:Major Field Test Performance: 50% Homework Assignments (Empty Outlines) 25%Weekly quizzes: 25% Total: 100%Outline Evaluation and Late Assignment Policy:When written outline content is required it will be graded on a satisfactory (S), with minor errors (S-), or unsatisfactory (U) basis. Assignment final grades will be determined as follows:1) If all assignments are submitted and graded S, it will result in an A (97) in the assignment grade (at the end of semester).2) Each grade of S- will reduce the final overall assignment end grade by 3 points (e.g., 94, 91, 88, 85, etc.). 3) Unacceptable assignments will be graded U and will reduce the overall assignment end grade by 6 points (e.g., 91, 85, etc.). If re-submitted, they will be re-graded no higher thanS-. 4) Assignments submitted 1 session late will be graded U (-6 points). Assignments 2 sessionslate will be graded U- and reduce the final overall assignment grade by 9 points. Assignments must be submitted in class on the date due. E-mailed assignments will only be accepted on the due date if class is missed because of a justifiable reason. Otherwise, assignments will be treated late as discussed above.5) Beyond two sessions late assignments will not be accepted and will reduce the final overall assignment grade by 12 points.6) Documented medical, emergency, or athletic situations are the only acceptable justification for absence from class or lateness in submitting assignments.7) If you have any questions about the above procedure, please ask for clarification.The above schedule and procedures in this course are subject to change in the event of extenuating circumstances.Attendance policy: Students are required to attend all classes. There will be no makeup exams allowed. The use of cell phones and other electronic communication devices is prohibited.Academic integrity: Your attention is drawn to the college’s Academic Integrity Policy as set out in the current Caldwell College undergraduate (or graduate) catalog. Practices such as cheating, fabricating, plagiarism, multiple submissions, interference or complicity with others in conducting such practices are examples of academic dishonesty which constitute infringements of policy. Students who violate thispolicy will be reported to the Vice President and Dean of Academic Affairs. Any kind of academic dishonesty must be regarded as a very grave matter and penalties include automatic failure in the course and, ultimately, dismissal from the college.Students with Disabilities:Any student who has a documented disability and is in need of academic accommodations mustcontact the Office of Disability Services (973-618-3645) and notify the professor of this course.
