TNTX 1300/1200 Teach THREE Analysis and Reflection1) What is something that you personally were more successful about in Teach 3? Did this happen by accident or is it something you worked on? Elaborate. The activity was definitely way better than teach 2. My partner and I planned for this lesson a lot and I think that benefitted us greatly. We split up roles of what each of us were responsible for and we both provided. We were on the same pagethe entire time. It was great!2) In your opinion, what about Teach 3 went exceptionally well? What factors contributed to this success? Honestly, the entire lesson went very good in my opinion. Like I said before, my partner and I planned a lot for this lesson plus it was a review so we didn’t really have to clear up misconceptions like previous lessons.3) In your opinion, what about Teach 3 did not go well? How would you change the lesson toaddress this area? Again, this lesson really did go extremely smooth. The only thing I would change is in question 5 below.4) Choose 2 direct quotes from the strength area of either of your Teach 3 observations forms and cite them here. Why are you proud of these comment? “Both student teachers arrived early and professionally dressed. Both student teachers were articulate.” I’m proud to see that our professionalism was recognized, because while we may not be able to control how students act sometimes, we can always control how we present ourselves.“Smart board is used to work practice problems in detail. Power point is neat and very easy to understand. Both instructors have a strong teacher voice and a good rapport with their students.” I like this quote a lot because I think it shows how far we have come as student teachers. This shows me that experience really helps withteaching.5) Choose 2 direct quotes from the improvement section of your observations and cite them here. Explain specific steps that you will take to work on these areas of improvement. “When a student had an incorrect answer during the game, you could offer more specific feedback as to why they missed it - was the process correct with a calculation error, or was a step missed, or was the approach wrong - instead of justa yes or no.” This can be fixed simply by me being more detailed with my students. Iwill be more helpful by telling them WHY they’re wrong and not just that they are wrong.“The lesson was not 5E, but due to end of course exams the student teachers were told to review the students for the EOC.” I chose this quote because it was the only other quote available for “Areas of Improvement” . 6) What have you learned about yourself as a teacher this semester?I learned that I have a long way to go to become an effective teacher, but I know I can do it and it will take hard work that I am willing to do.7) What knowledge do you hope to learn or what skills do you hope to develop next year?I want to be as fluid as the master teachers and my mentor. I know that it comes with experience so I look forward to any teaching opportunities that I can do. I also want to learn how to develop a good relationship with my students. We only visited with the class six times and by the last teach, the students were very comfortable with us. They asked us questions about college and everything.8) Do you plan to continue in TNT? If yes, what course are you enrolled in for fall. If no, what are your new career plans? Is there anything TNT could have done differently to influence your decision?Unfortunately, I probably won’t be in TNT next fall, but it has nothing to do with the program. I loved TNT and I really enjoyed my classes this semester. I hope to continue with Mathematics and get my teaching certificate in the future. 9) Complete the chart below. In the student results comment give the number of correct answers over the total number of students. Then add a few summary sentences below the table analyzing how well the students’ mastered the objectives of the lesson. Objective Evaluation Question Student resultsI will determine the slope of aline.1) The table shows the cost of a certain amount of nuts. Find the slope of theline containing the points given in the table.Weight (oz) Cost ($)16 1.2532 2.5048 3.7564 5.0021/23 students found the distance between two points on the graph sketched from the table to find the slope. 2 didn’t answer the problem.I will solve systems of 2) You pay $22 to rent 6 18/23 students set up aequationsvideo games. The store charges $4 for new gamesand $2 for older games. How many new games didyou rent?system of equations and solved for new games. 4 students guessed and checked. 1 left blank.I will determine the domain and range of quadratic functions.3) A toy rocket is fired straight up and reaches a maximum height of 64 feet. The function h(t)= -16t2 +64 represents the height, in feet, of the toy rocker t seconds after it reaches its maximum height. Use inequalities todescribe a domain and range for the situation. 22/23 graphed the functionon a calculator and found the domain and range. 1 left blank.I will determine the domain and range of exponential functions4) Suppose your friend’s parents deposited $2000 in an account that pays 4.5% interest compounded monthly. This situation is represented by the function y= 2000(0.045)x. Use inequalities to describe a domain and range for the situation. 20/23 graphed the functionon a calculator and found the domain and range. 3 left blank/ didn’t
