Sarah VaughnComm 105Part 2 Interview Project9/14/15Page 1: Job Title/Company DescriptionWithin conducting my initial research for a job that I think I would like to have within the next 12 months, I began searching for web developer jobs. I am currently starting my senior year, but will be in school for another year and a half, in studying Information Technology. Within my current studies, I have been extremely interested in web developing. After some initial research I have found a perfect job that is located in Madison, WI. The job is for the City of Madison in which I would be a Web Developer (Information Technology Specialist 1 or 2). After taking a look at the requirements, and tasks expected out of this specific job, I soon realized that after graduating this could be a job I would like! Below is information that was foundwithin the job posting: Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of Web page design. Ability to show strong attention to detail and high quality code. Ability to follow coding and layout standards. Ability to work well under pressure. Ability to develop realistic estimates, establish realistic schedules and meet deadlines on a consistent basis. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally, work independently, manage multiple projects on an ongoing basis. Ability to plan and prioritize work assignments. Ability to facilitate projects, recommend change and communicate methods. Ability to work with both users and project team members to resolve problems in a timely and effective manner. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal staff and staff of other agencies. Ability to effectively participate in team efforts toimprove/develop departmental programs and services. Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in completing assigned tasks. Ability to determine customer needs and define the scope of projects. Ability to problem solve, apply logic, and perform process identification and systems thinking. Ability to maintain adequate attendance.Training and Experience: Possession of a four year degree from an accredited college or university in computer science or a related field, or possession of an Associate's Degree in computer science or a related field and 2 years of directly related experience. Other combinations of training and/or experience which can be demonstrated to result in the possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of this position will also be considered. The position requires abachelor’s degree in information technology or related field and three plus years in experience. I earned my bachelors degree from the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee in Information Sciences and Technology. I also have experience in coding. Though I lack the experience with AJAX, LESS, SASS, and Drupal theming, I have developed excellentinterpersonal, verbal and communication skills from my assistant manager position at a tanning salon during my time in college and as a nanny for two adolescent boys and also an infant.Throughout my life I was always surrounded by technology using computers in nearly all aspects of my life.
