They were also trying to convince women to put their money towards the way rather than other things. (One ad of a women shopping stated: “Who is going to see you wear that nice dress if American doesn’t win the war?”) Not only were they trying to convince women to get a job and support the war, they were trying to convince women that they had a role in things such as war, etc. b. International DisloyaltySome ads were suggesting the disloyalty of the Japanese. One add had a picture of a Japanese man with a knife to a white woman’s throat. The caption said something along the lines of “invest in war bonds to prevent this from happening” (preventing Japanese from harming innocent people). WW!! Was a moment when people of European decent were considered American. The United States brought Mexicans into the country to work during the war but did not allow them to get citizenship. There were less opportunities for racial groupslike Japanese, African Americans, and Latinos during this time.These notes represent a detailed interpretation of the professor’s lecture.
