He wasn’t sure of the meaning of the word “homeless” and he didn’t think that he was homeless. He wanted to be a Cop and a fire fighter. He also had a sister who was interested in other girls and he thought that was crazy!Lucy, Alexis, and Kate-The three Caucasian girls live in New York City's Upper East Side and attend the prestigious Nightingale-Bumford School. They had a much more sheltered background and were not really exposed to things like drugs and violence. This caused them to be unrealistic in some ways. Kate mentioned a desire to get married in order to have kids. Ashtyn-Ashtyn lives in a middle-class neighborhood in Lincoln, Nebraska. They both go to a prep school on the University of Chicago's campus. Brandon said that he believed he was darker because there were slaves in his ancestry. He definitely had different experiences from Eric, and this was seen in the dichotomy between their answers. Joey- Joey lives in rural Georgia and is a Jehovah's Witness and is Caucasian. One of his main desires was to get to paradise. This was one of the most important things that was instilled in him. He also showed much respect for other people’s beliefs by not judging them or saying that other people would be going to hell.Edie- Edie lives near Joey and is African American. She seemed the most content with her living. She liked living in the country and was aware that it meant she should be cautious about how she spoke. This may be because she has learned aboutstigma associated with southerners regarding education. She mentioned that how people treat others is very important. Salina- Salina lives in Los Angeles and is the daughter of Chinese and Vietnamese immigrants. She was very soft spoken and she desired safety. She said that seeing homeless people made her feel awful. She had a desire to give to them and help them. She also said that her father didn’t want her around black people because he believed that they were scary. Julio- Julio came to Los Angeles from San Salvador and lives in a Spanish-speaking household. He preferred speaking Spanish and found it to be better.
