333 Study Guide Test 1SAFETY RULESFOR PERSONAL SAFETY:1. REMOVE ALL METAL JEWELRY since rings, bands, necklaces, etc… make excellent electrodes in the event of accidental contact with electric power sources.2. DO NOT MAKE CIRCUIT CHANGES without first turning off the power.3. DO NOT MAKE A LONG CABLE by connecting a string of short cables in series.4. NEVER WORK ALONE be sure there are at least three people in the laboratory or shop; one to aid the victim and one to obtain additional help.5. Be sure that instruments and power tools connected to the 120-volt ac power line are grounded via a three-wire power cable.6. Turn off the power and ground high-voltage points before touching wiring.7. Never work on live equipment when tired.8. Move slowly with feet firm to maintain balance. Never lunge for falling objects.9. Avoid standing on metal surfaces or wet concrete. Keep your shoes dry.10. Never handle electrical equipment with wet skin.TO PROTECT EQUIPMENT AND MINIMIZE MAINTENANCE:DO:1. SET MULTIRANGE METERS to highest range before connecting to an unknown source.2. INFORM YOUR INSTRUCTOR about faulty equipment so that it can be sent promptly to the shop for repair.DO NOT:1. EAT, DRINK, OR SMOKE IN LAB; please step out into the halls for this purpose.2. USE AN OHMMETER to measure resistance (ohms) in a circuit to which power is connected.3. MOVE EQUIPMENT around the room except under an instructor's supervision.Q points and Load LinesFind Beta. The Early effect is observed as an increase in the collector current with increasing collector-emitter voltage (Vce)Example of high output resistance:Behaves like a constant current source, unaffected by load resistance / input resistance of load circuit.Example of low output resistance:Behaves like a constant voltage source, unaffected by load resistance / input resistance of load circuit.Op AmpCombination of transistors, resistors, capacitors that:Amplifies the difference between two input voltages andProduces a single output voltageIdeal Op-Amp Characteristics1. Internal differential gain Aod is infinite.2. Differential input voltage (v2-v1) is zero.3. Effective input resistance is infinite.4. Output resistance is zero so output voltage is connected directly to dependent voltage source..ECE 333 1st EditionExam # 1 Study Guide 333 Study Guide Test 1SAFETY RULESFOR PERSONAL SAFETY:1.
